I recently attended an event in Washington, DC for the Mashable Social Good Day MeetUp. Founded in 2005, Mashable is the top source for news in social and digital media, technology and web culture. One of their major campaigns is Social Good Day, a day when technology and social consciousness merge together for the betterment of all people. A small gathering of us social media geeks gathered at Funxion, a cute little restaurant located in downtown DC. We sipped healthy power smoothies and talked about how we could use our chosen profession to help change the world. There are several Social Media Day MeetUps across the country but we, of course, seated in the lap of the Nation’s Capitol, felt empowered to solve the world’s problems. We were tasked with one over arching theme. For Social Good Day Mashable asked the question.
