It’s November,a time to give thanks, which many of us do by giving to others. At Campaign Consultation,Inc. founders Linda Brown Rivelis,President, and Steven Rivelis,CEO,have woven the spirit of giving into the fabric of their business and celebrated the season through its GIVE 5 initiative.
Through this annual program,Campaign Consultation grants five percent of its pre-tax profits to social causes and social profit organizations selected by employees.
Each employee pitches a proposal for a cause or organization about which they are passionate and makes a recommendation for an amount that they believe would make a difference for their selected organization(s).
This model of strategic philanthropy allows Campaign Consultation,Inc. to give back to communities, but also to learn to apply our core competencies in new areas and improve employee morale. This approach strikes a balance between meeting the needs of the company and those of the beneficiaries. Since the beginning, the Give 5 program has been deeply enjoyed and well received–by the company, our employees and the recipients. Stay tuned to find out to which organizations Campaign Consultation will be contributing. Announcements will be made in December.

An internationally recognized social activist, psychologist, and catalyst for social change during and after the Siege of Sarajevo – Dzenana Rustempasic – will visit the United States for the first time this summer. She will be available for speaking engagements and meetings from June 4 – 12, 2012.
Ms. Rustempasic ignited hope in a generation of young people who lost homes, families, friends and dreams during the devastating 1992‐1996 Siege of Sarajevo.
“In such a terrible war situation, watching unimaginable pain and suffering of [my] own nation, I started to work as a volunteer in refugee camps for women and children,” Rustempasic wrote in an email.
Ms. Rustempasic’s engagements will feature her work as an activist in Bosnia and Herzegovina that grew into the creation of an internationally recognized non‐profit, Heroes Children. Rustempasic will share how she sustained her non‐profit organization during the siege and after the war. She will also discuss
the work she’s done to bolster similar organizations since then.

Wide Angle Youth Media (WAYM) provides video and media training to children from Baltimore City Public Schools. Located in the same Charles Village community as Campaign Consultation and Eye Byte Solutions, we have provided annual support to WAYM for several years through our GIVE 5 initiatives. In December, employees from both companies decided to step up our support and become the top sponsors of WAYM’s signature event.
Company leadership was pleased to receive Festival appreciation and relay our admiration for the artistic expression of students on topics ranging from breast cancer awareness to same-sex relationships. It was a packed theatre audience who also heard from Congressman Elijah Cummings who talked about his childhood and emphasized the importance of art and youth.

Throughout my childhood, I observed my single mom doing what she could to help neighborhood causes. Often, she wasn’t able to give financially – instead, she found ways to contribute by coordinating events, soliciting donations and the ever-important “schlepping.” It is in this way that I learned to get involved and participate in local efforts.
Recently, I offered to coordinate a donation for the Waverly Firehouse #31 in Baltimore, MD. Following a massive rehab, the Firehouse hosted a Grand Opening Cookout on Saturday, May 29, 2010. Knowing that they would need food for this event, I contacted the Committee and offered to organize the purchase of hotdogs and buns for this event. Team members at Campaign Consultation, Inc. readily agreed to donate money for this purchase – and like my mom, I offered to buy and deliver the food. It was suggested that we invite Eddie’s Market of Charles Village to help us with this purchase. Not only did they match us “dog-for-dog and bun-for-bun,” but they sold us these items at cost! Due to the generosity of my co-workers, we had more than enough money to buy hot dogs and buns – as well as ketchup, mustard, relish and …Learn More
